We gave you guys some advice on how to clean your house faster when you are on the run. However, those were not all the tips, or better said, tricks up our sleeve. There is plenty more where those came from, so sit back and keep reading, because we are going to let you in on a couple more secrets regarding fast cleaning your house.
Last time we were telling you that if you are in a hurry, it won’t be the end of the world if you skip some chores. Nobody will mind, since there are not obvious things that would bother potential guests. Now, if you truly are in a hurry, you can also cut a few corners when it comes to other chores. For instance, last time we’ve told you that you can skip cleaning under the bed / couch or behind furniture. Now, we are going to do you one better and tell you that you can actually ignore most of the room’s surface when vacuuming on the run. You just need to focus on those high transit areas that your visitors will definitely notice. There are more reasons why this is more practical. First of all, if the area you are cleaning is the most transited, it means, by default, that it also is the dirtiest. So vacuuming the lobby or the place in between the coffee table and the couch actually means that you are vacuuming the dirtiest spots on your carpet. The second reason it is more practical is surely related to time and energy saving. Again, you just need to remember to only do this once, maybe twice a month. Don’t ignore how important doing a thorough job is, and don’t get lazy. We are simply giving out these tricks for people who are on the run and who don’t like to be caught unprepared. Multitasking is important, especially for women. Well, if you can multitask at work and at home, with the husband and the kids, then you can definitely multitask while cleaning. You can surely do a lot of things at the same time. For instance, you can get your laundry going, and while the laundry is washing, you can also start the dishwasher and while those two are doing their job, you can start cleaning the countertops or do anything else that needs to be done. Oh, and just so you know, it’s also called multitasking if you have kids and you convince them to gather their toys. The job gets done, you have one less thing to worry about and the kids learn some discipline: this works wonderfully for everyone. Now we’ve brought you a few steps closer to having the most effective cleaning experience. Of course, there are plenty other tips we could give you, but we are going to save them all for next time! In our last post we gave you a few tips on how to clean up you kitchen better and maybe faster, in the sense that if you stick to our tips, it will definitely be a less time consuming activity in the future. We’ve told you all about cleaning the fridge and why this is such an important part of cleaning the kitchen. But there are plenty of other things to do and places to clean, so here is the rest of our tip list.
Cleaning up the stove is another very important task. This is not necessarily because it would be some kind of a health hazard, but because we all know just how hard burnt grease can be to clean. In case you are not already doing this, you should start cleaning your stove every time you use it. It’s much simpler than having to scrub it for minutes on end. And to make things even easier, you can spray it with whatever stove cleaning product you fancy and let it work while you do the dishes. This way, if you are dealing with stains that are harder to clean, they will have time to soak while you do something else. The same thing also applies to the microwave. Even if it rarely gets messy, don’t forget to clean it from time to time and to be as thorough as you can. And since we have mentioned doing the dishes, you should probably know that the place with the most bacteria in the kitchen will always be the dish sponge. Regardless of its condition, the dish sponge should be changed once every two weeks, because otherwise it will clean your dishes, but they will be full of germs after you are done washing them. So keep in mind to regularly change it and not use it on something else afterwards. You should also wash the sink every time you do the dishes, because germs just like tiny bits of leftover food. Another thing you must not forget while cleaning the kitchen is to regularly organize your pantry or any other place where you keep different ingredients such as pasta, flour and condiments. Ants and other little bugs love these places, and if we are talking about ingredients that you don’t use so often, you might end up one day having to deal with a true pest problem. And speaking of ants, you might also want to clean up the bread basket every time you buy a new loaf and also clean the toaster from all those nasty crumbs that have gotten stuck inside. These are just some of the tips we have when it comes to cleaning the kitchen. You should basically make sure that every inch of that room is clean and sanitary. You should clean the oven, the cupboards, that place in between the stove and the wall, everything must be spotless. If you would normally just go around the house, putting things where they belong to, vacuuming and tidying up the kitchen and the bathroom for a bit, when it comes to spring cleaning, things get a lot more serious.
There are a lot of things we ignore during a regular cleaning up of the place, and this is actually the main reason why we feel compelled to do a spring, general cleaning. This is the time to bring out the big guns and deal with all that built up dirt. We move furniture around, we scrub and we rub things until they are neat and shiny again. However, despite our best efforts, there are some things that we simply can’t handle as well as professional cleaning company. For example, no matter how much or what type of wax or equipment I use, there is no way I can restore my hardwood floors to their former state. To me, that seems to be one of the most difficult things when it comes to spring cleaning. And to be honest, it seems that it doesn’t even matter that I’ve worked so hard for day on end if my hardwood floors still look the same way they did when I started. So in order for my work not to be all in vain, I normally call for help. There are actually no words to describe just how much of a difference a professional touch can make on hardwood floors. I could work for weeks and still not be able to get the same results. And since the team that deals with my hardwood floors is also specialized in carpet cleaning, of course that I take advantage of that. The problem with carpets is not necessarily that they are very dirty, because I’m sure that all of us vacuum at least once a week. The problem with carpets is that they tend to lose color and become really old – looking. Again, no matter how much I would be on my knees, brushing the carpets, the results would never be the same. When I think of the type of equipment these guys have, it kind of all makes sense. They have these steam producing vacuum cleaners and some new cleaning products that I’ve never even heard of. On the other hand I had a brush and some regular carpet cleaner. It is definitely obvious that the results would never be even remotely similar. So this is why you should hire professionals to clean a house help with your spring cleaning. You most definitely can handle everything from cleaning the bathroom tiles to cleaning the windows, but there comes a point when you also need to think of the results. Your results are good, but the ones a professional team has are not far from excellent. |
